Freefall - Forest Edge

Opalescence follows Vlair quietly

Vlair guides Opalescences deep into the depths of the Elven Caves..
They reach a point in the caves that has been decorated with elven
design. They stop to admire the elven art.'

Opalescence smiles softly, running her fingers across the designs etched
into the wall of the anceint cave. "Beautiful.." She whispers, dropping
her hand back down to her side after a moment

Vlair nods with a smile, "I have seen this kind of work before, this is
a sacred place to the Elves.". He says as he examines some of the runes
etched, then looks to her smiling..'

Opalescence offers him a small smile of her own, shying her eyes away
for a moment to gaze at the golden runes on the wall. "..are we invading
their sanctuary..?" She asks quietly, looking back into his eyes

Vlair shifts his eyes to the gems above, "It would seem that way if it
weren't for the welcoming message for our kind that we saw, maybe this
is the sacredness of this place..". He lowers his eyes back down to
look into her deep blues, "I have heard of elves that spent their lives
trying to do nothing but help our kind find solace within our shadowy
lives. Elves are our friends, how ever much some may take advantage of
their ways."'

Opalescence nods a little, stepping away from the wall. "How generous
of them.. to help our kind." She smiles, squeezing his hand in hers
gently. "Are there elves that still live around here?"

Vlair tilts his head to the side and turns his attention to some of
the runes, "These are sacred writings and I do not feel that the elves
who created this would part from such a thing, however there has been
troubles with the elves in this land. Their forest is short of life
anymore." he looks back to her, focussed on a reflecte shimmer in her
eyes from the gems.'

Opalescence nods, looking to the gems also. "Very beautiful" She whispers
again, stepping a little closer to Vlair. She smiles shyly, watching him.
"Is this what you wanted to show me, sir Vlair?"

Vlair tilts his head down, dropping his eyes just barely, then lifts
himself to look into her eyes, he moves in close to her. "I brought you
here to show you the value of love.. The elves don't look at our condition
as evil, but as if there is meaning to it. They have given us this beatiful
refuge out of concern and hope.".'

Opalescence smiles, shyly acverting her eyes back to the gems once more,
her sea-blue eyes scanning over the different colors. "Thank you, sir
Vlair.." She manages, fidgeting with the end of her tunic. "I am happy
you brought me here." She says with a soft whisper, casting her eyes
back to him again.

Vlair takes her hand in his, he turn while close to her, looking still
her eyes. A shadow passes his skin as he moves closer to the wall and
to her side, "We should see more of these cave. I have only ever hidden
from the day close to the opening.".'

Opalescence nods a little, squeezing his hand gently. "Lean on, sir
Vlair" She smiles, watching him.

Vlair nods, reaches up to brush some hair from his brow as he turns his
eyes to the darkness deep inside the cave's tunnel. He guides her deeper
inside, soon to reach a widened area inside the cave.. Here there is a
bench cut away from the wall, and a statue of an elven child plays with
a doll, tugging at the sleave as to remove the sleeve from the doll's
arm. The child, she is sitting, legs crossed. He offers her a seat on
the bench, to rest.'

Opalescence smiles and seats herself, brushing some loose dirt from her
pants and boots as she sits, eyes gazing at the statue. "..is this statue
of some importance?" She askes, watching Vlair quietly, her arms wrapping
around herself.

Vlair grins, and timidly chuckles softly, "I am not sure, but she seems
happy with her doll. She is quite serious about removing that blouse from
the doll, with her brows furrowed and lips tucked. She is a pretty child,
wouldn't you agree?". He looks to her, smiling a little.'

Opalescence nods, bowing her head. "Yes.. she is." She blinks, fidgeting
with the hem of her tunic again. "Sir Vlair.." She askes, staring at her
hands."Before you decide to fall in love with me.." She blushes, clearing
her throat, forcing herself to continue. "There is something.. that you
must know.."

Vlair's smile fades into a concerned chill across his expressions, he
looks down for a brief moment then back to her eyes that look to her
tunic and hands, "From Whence there is love there is much for me to
know, please guide my listen, my lady, my ears are yours."'

Opalescence sighs softly, nodding. After several moments, she looks to
him, her eyes pleading. "YOu must.. promise never to tell another of
what I am about to tell you. There is.. much danger for..this" She
looks away, back to her hands

Vlair nods briskly, and as he tilts forwards expresses assurance with
but a few words, "Your words are safe with me!"'

Opalescence nods, biting down on her lower lip.. her voice barely a
whisper. "I-I have.. a daughter.."

Vlair for a moment, does not say anything, though not in shock, his
wonderment poises for a moment and then he asks, "Your daughter unto
shadow?"'

Opalescence shakes her head, keeping her eyes locked on her hands,
fidgeting with the hem of her tunic still. "No.." She blinks, a red
tear trickling down her cheek. "Her.. father was...a elf." She whispers,
closing her eyes.

Vlair's eyes wander to the statue, his expression is distant of anything
but the shadow that he owns, he looks back to her, "I see, and was this
here within this land that your new this elven man?".'

Opalescence shakes her head again, her fingers clutching the hem of her
tunic for some comfort. "No. I was long ago.. far away.."

Vlair nods and asks, "How long has it been since you saw your daughter?".
He brushes his cheek with his hand.'

Opalescence opens her eyes, looking to him. "It has been a while now."
She whispers, watching him "I keep her in hiding.. because she is in
great danger. ..a danger from my homeland."

Vlair sighs, rubs the back of his neck and looks to her, "If ever should
you need help finding a safe place for her, these caves would do nicely,
that is if you should ever have to move her in an emergency."'

Opalescence blinks, looking to him, her eyes wide. "You. are not angry?"
She whispers, her eyes searching his desperately..

Vlair shakes his head, fixing with her searching eyes, "No, my love, I
am not angry.", he reaches his arms around her to hold, brushing his
cheek to hers, and wispers, "No, never, my love..'

Opalescence smiles, throwing her arms tight around him, burying her face
into his shoulder. "Thank you..love.." She manages, wiping away the tears
of blood easping her eyes

Vlair holds her for what seems to be minutes, rocking her close to him,
kissing her neck once at some point, and nuzzling her softly. Tears do
break from his eyes, but she never sees this.'

Opalescence tries to calm herself, lifting her head to look into his
eyes. "Thank you.." She repeats, offering him a soft smile. "My daughter..
is very special, to me.."

Vlair nods and smiles to her, saying "Yes, I can see this.. You said she
was part elven, are her features also elven?"'

Opalescence nods, tucking some hair behind her ear slowly. "Yes. Her
facial shape is that of an elf." She smiles, thinking of her preicous
daughter that she has not seen in so many months.

Vlair reaches up with his fingers to touch her chin, and kisses her
lips gently. He leans back a bit, "Maybe oneday, I could meet your
daughter, if I didn't scare."'

Opalescence smiles, reaching out to touch his cheek. "I would like you
to meet my daugher, sir Vlair.." She smiles, staring into his eyes for
long moments before lowering her hand back to her lap

Vlair asking, "You have not seen her for a while, have you?, takes her
hand in his.'

Opalescence shakes her head, squeezing his hand in hers gently. "No. It
has been too much of a risk to go see her just yet."

Vlair nods, "I understand."'
