Freefall - Forest Edge

Vlair has been spending nights learning this lands surface and days
traversing the tunnels. He has met a few and has even made friendship
to some. He has forgotten his purpose for being here, lost in a
delusion that what he has found in this land is what he has been
missing. There is a pain in his eyes, however, as he walks beneath
the stars.

Vlair he walks along the treeline of a foresty habitat for night
creatures.. A night owl whoots as he passes by. He stops and kneels
down on a knee only to drop, sitting with his back against a tree.'

Opalescence lays upon the soft grass, her dark hair cascading around
her frail form as she picks at the blades of grass, her eyes glazed
over in deep thought. She blinks finally, laying her cheek against
nature's carpet, thinking of her past.. of her pain, her memories.

Vlair talks to the night as if it were listening to him. "My nights
here have been few, yet I have found grace in your eyes, my dark
lord. I have met a maiden within this land, a vampire maiden, and
I can only think of her these nights. Where has my ambition gone
to travel, where has my memorie of the past gone before this land?"'

Opalescence blinks, hearing the words of the Stranger she had met,
sitting up slowly to search the darkness. Her eyes land on him, her
dark hair falling around her form to the ground, making it seem like
a black, velevet curtain. she blinks again, working up the courage
to say something..anything.. She closes her eyes, parting her rose-
colored lips to speak. "Sir..?"

Vlair startled after being brought out from his night-dream. He
looks towards the familiar voice and sees the maiden. His eyes
grow large and then he looks around in the space before him,
circular then back to her with concern in his eyes. Confused, he
speaks to her. "I did not know you were here, my lady. I have
embarassed myself.". He peers into her eyes, lips trembling.'

Opalescence tilts her head, blushing a little."No, you have no
embarrassed yourself, sir." she speaks softly, shyly as she plays
with a strand of her long, straight hair. "I... didn't mean to
interrupt your thoughts..sir.."

Vlair nods, relaxing his posture and smiles to her, "Thankyou,
and your interruption is most welcome. I was only lost in my
mind, wich might not be a good place for me to be. How do you
do this eve, Opalescence?"'

Opalescence blushes again, bowing her head to watch her fingers
twist the soft strands of her hair. "I am well, sir.. I was also,
lost in my mind, sir. I was ...remembering things... long forgotten."
She shudders a little, closing her eyes as she tries to push the
memories aside. "But.. I am well, sir.."

Vlair's eyes trace the strands of hair she plays with, "My memories
seem to have faded from me upon reaching this land. I have been graced
with a new life and pry not my hurting past." His expression grows
intense with joy, but an insane delusion peers deep from within his
darkened pupils. "I do believe I have found my home here." He says
after nodding quickly, blinking halfway.'

Opalescence smiles shyly, nodding a little. "The land of Phoenix is,
indeed, a wonderful place, sir.." she looks up to him slowly, a blush
coming to her ashen cheeks.

Vlair grins, dimples almost appear on his tight pale cheeks, he looks
to her and says, "Even the stars here shine with more brilliance than
I have ever dreamed imaginable. The pools of water and fresh air enter
my thoughts, where once only pain and anguish dwelt. The pain is there,
and my aching body still pains me, but it is no bother to me now." He
looks to the sky, expression teaming with the sparkle of a star.'

Opalescence smiles shyly again, looking to the ground. "Indeed.. the
beauty of nature has.. always brought a comfort to me, sir.." She blinks,
letting the strands of hair fall from her fingers as she looks up to him
again

Vlair meets her eyes as she looks to him, gazing softly, "I do remember
as a mortal, I was a knight for my families Kingdom and a gentlemen to
the ladys. I lost my mortality while at a party celebrating good news
of new trades from a prosperous kingdom. My dark lord took my life as
I walked alone beneath the stars and ever so often overhead tree swaying,
shivering the shadow of moonlight on the ground." When I awoke from my
initial slumber, the first thing I saw was a star directly overhead."'

Opalescence stands, apporaching him shyly. "And.. what star was that,
sir?" Her fingers return to twisting some strands of her long hair once
more, not taking his eyes from his, making her blush.

Vlair looks to the sky to his left and points to a star at the tip of a
triangular trio hovering within the darkness. "That star was what I saw."
He smiles as he looks back to her, slowly moving his hand back in and on
his knee. He rests against the tree'

Opalescence smiles shyly, slowly sitting beside him, blushing like crazy
as she looks to the star he indicated. "The Triad.." She blinks, bowing
her head. "That's.. what I always called it..."

Vlair remains speachless, as if in thought of what she said. He looks
to the grass and then back to her, reaching up he brushes some hair from
his brow, shakes his head sligtly to the side and gazes softly to her.
"The Triad..." he looks up then back to her, "you see them as one."'

Opalescence blushes, lowering her eyes to her fingers as they twist and
pull at the black locks. "Well.. yes.. I didn't know what the constellation
was called.. so I named it.. The Triad.."

Vlair grins, raises his eyebrows and nods, "That is indeed a Triad.. I have
always seen them as 'them' but not till now have I ever understood them the
way you have showed me. My one star has become one with that.. Interesting
how I narrowed my vision just to that one star when I woke that night."'

Opalescence nods, keeping her eyes on the ground. "Balance." She mummers,
tucking some strands of hair behind her ear, blushing softly as she raises
her eyes to meet his, blinking slowly..

Vlair looks to her hand as she tucks the hair behind her ear then back to
her eyes, pondering the one word she has spoken. His expression assures
and understanding of her word she spoke, "Balance.." he says agreeingly
and smiles to her. '

Opalescence blushes like crazy as he smiles to her, bowing her head to
hide her reddening face. She smiles a littler herself, clasping her
hands in her lap. "Y-yes, sir.. "

Vlair raises his chin slightly, "I find myself talking to that star I
spoke of as if it were my dark lord. I never knew him, for he was fast
and then was gone, abandoning me to learn of what happened on my own.
That star was what I awoke to. Maybe that Triad might bring me closer
to my own balance of mind. Thankyou, my lady." He touches her cheek
with three fingers of his left hand, then returns his hand to his knee.'

Opalescence looks to him shyly, shying away from his hand a little,
her fingers fidgeting with the cloth of her tunic. "..you're welcome,
sir..?" she manages, blushing like crazy...slowly lifting her eyes to
meet his

Vlair blinks deeply and slowly as her eyes meet up with his, expression
tassled with a shimmer upon his olive green eyes. He is silent for a
few seconds and then speaks, "I would have liked to have known you as
a mortal. My fair lady, might I ask for your hand that we may walk
along the river to talk?"'

Opalescence blinks, looking up to him with curiousity, and yet.. a
slight fear.. she manages a nod, smiling to him shyly as she continues
to fidget, wondering what he wishes to talk of.. "Of course, sir.." She
says quietly, watching him

Vlair stands from his sitting position, reaching both hands towards hers,
smiling.'
