Freefall - River
Opalescence stands, watching Vlair through curious blue eyes, moving her
long hair behind her shoulders as she steps towards him, hesitantly.. shyly,
looks to the ground, scruffing her feet. She looks up to him once more,
locking her eyes on his.. for the moment, her long hair swaying behind
her as she shifts her weight from one foot to the other
Vlair reaches behind his neck, tilting his head back stretching his neck
muscles as he stands. He straightens his composure, hair he brushes from
his brow and he looks to Opalescence and sees her blue eyes. He says
nothing, grabbing her hand he motions for her to follow as he begins
walking, still looking into her eyes.'
Opalescence blushes as he takes her hand, managing to curl her fingers
around his hand in return. She follows him closely, watching his eyes,
as if searching them. She smiles shly to him..
Vlair guides the walk away from the forest's edge and towards a river,
the moon, a waxing crescent, can be shimmering on the light ripples of
the river. The leaves of trees rustle lightly. Vlair looks to Opalescence
every now and then, with a smile upon his dark demeanor.'
Opalescence loses her courage of watching him and looks to the ground,
her free hand tugging at the ends of her tunic lightly, her blush still
upon her pale cheeks. She manages to squeeze his hand a little, almost
afraid to do so as she keeps up with him, listening to the sound of
rushing water.
Vlair looks over to her and sees her figit, he slows down the pace a
bit when he sees a small rabbit take off through some bushes. He smiles
and tugs her hand slightly, pointing to the little creature. "That rabbit
is scared of us, timidly he runs away fearing we may harm him. Why do
you think he would fear us?".'
Opalescence blinks, looking to the shadows where the rabbit disappeared.
"I.. I'm afraid I don't know." she manages a smile, locking her gaze
with his once more..
Vlair nods, tilts his head to the side to look to her, his hair dangles
off center from his stance, "He runs from anything that is out of the
ordinary for him. He might dash at a limb creaking in a tree, for he
knows not what might be in that tree. If I could ever comfort such a
wild rabbit into trusting me, I would have only become familiar to
the rabbit. Hence, the rabbit would only know that I could never harm
him."'
Opalescence smiles, softly, looking once again to the shadows. Lifting
her free hand to move the shorter strands of hair from her eyes, she
watches him carefully. Blushing a little, she nods. "Very wise... "
she sighes, shaking her head a little. "But, I'm afraid that animals
do not want to befriend one of the dark." she gives him a small smile,
her eyes shifting from his to the ground
Vlair stops for a moment, looks to her tilts his head, raises his
eyebrows and says, "You are right, that creature would never allow
us to come close to him." turns his head towards the front and
starts to walk again, still talking, "but he would take food we left
behind, without concern. I am like this rabbit, would be hasty to
allow such a darkness near me, yet that darkness fills me through."
he sighs deeply.'
Opalescence nods a little, fidgeting with the hem of her tunic once more.
"And you have another one of the dark close to you.." She looks down to
her hand in his..squeezing it shyly. "But.. you do not run from me.."
Vlair continues, "and the food left behind for me from this darkness,
is to hard to resist. If I found myself feeding, and the darkness walked
up to me, I would be more intent of devouring, then to run. The darkness
that frightens me, also charges me and threatens my life, yet I am familiar
to it."'
Vlair steadily guides the walk along side the river, a few night birds
play near the water, splashing around the water's edge, breaking ripples
across to the middle of the narrow river. The moon's reflexion bobs up
and down on the water's surface as they walk slowly.'
Opalescence nods a little, offer him a small smile. "It is hard.. to be
one of the dark" she whispers, closing her eyes briefly, letting him lead
her along the river.
Vlair asks opalescence without glancing her way, "You have been shy of
me, and at first even frightened of me, yet you never ran from me. I
was also frightened, only that I might scare one such as yourself."'
Vlair continues is question, "Why did you not run from me?"'
Opalescence opens her eyes, staring at the ground. "I learned long ago
that I cannot run away from what I fear. I must accept it." She whispers,
lifting her hand to brush away the tear that manages to escape her eyes.
She smiles a little, keeping her eyes on the ground. "I do not fear you
now, sir Vlair.." She says quietly, shyly..a blush coming to her cheeks
Vlair looks to her as they walk, a smile comes across his face. The river
shimmers of the night behind Opalescence, he sees this comfort in her eyes
and is pleased with it, with his free hand he reaches up and moves a few
strands of her from her cheek. "I am glad you and I found one another."'
Opalescence stares into his eyes, blushing softly as he touches her cheek,
hesitantly reaching up with her free hand to place over his. "..why is that,
sir?" She asks, watching him.
Vlair closes his eyes as she covers his hand with hers, opens his eyes
again after she has asked this question and says, "I feel a connection
between you and I, a familiarity in you has touched me within the endarkened
place that was wiped of emotions so long ago."'
Vlair bows his head and softly continues, "... my heart."'
Opalescence shyly shifts her gaze from his eyes to her hand in his, smiling
softly. 'Emotions..." she repeats quietly, closing her eyes at his words.
"..as you have touched mine.." She manages, looking up into his eyes once
more.
Vlair's dark eyes gleem with the redish pupils and is defused by a new
gleem, but for a moment, as he smiles to her. He turns his hand with the
tops of his fingers touching her cheek, and runs the top of his nuckle
across her skin, he reaches over and kisses softly on her cheek, looks
down after doing so, the slowly looks back to her eyes as he moves away.'
Vlair moves the pace just a little quicker when he sees a small garden up
the path along the river.'
Opalescence blushes, watching him, unable to tear her eyes away from his
this time. She smiles shyly, her eyes taking on a distant glaze. She
looks up to him, biting down on her lip. "I'm.. afraid I've had.. bad
luck with.. my heart.." She manages, looking to the river. "I was always..
"bad luck'"
Vlair says nothing to this, though ponders luck and bad luck, remembering
his Dark Lord's teeth as they pierced his neck.'
Opalescence stays quiet, thinking to herself
